ISPhone with an Asterisk
Representatives of ISPhone, Inc. have announced the release of what they are calling the first call accounting package to support Asterisk IP-BPX. ISPhone’s flagship product VoIP-PRO 3, first released in 2003, has been upgraded, reportedly due to numerous internet telephony service provider requests, to include the program.
Previous versions of VoIP-PRO had enabled ITSPs to set up and manage user accounts, rate plans and rating rules. Version 3 has been expanded to allow variations in rating rules, rate plans and multi-level ITSPs. VoIP-PRO 3 also enables ITSPs to combine prepaid services with Asterisk, a feature that opens new opportunities for some such firms and also allows for a “hot standby” feature.
A privately held company founded in 1997, ISPhone was an early entrant into the VoIP network market and today has service provider customers in over thirty countries. ISPhone provides network, termination, and billing services for international service providers, and has operations in Traverse City, Mich., and Chicago.
