Hitachi Business Solution Co., Ltd. has announced the release of a bit of software with the catchy name “Optician’s shop Sales Promotion Assistance Computer – Simple and Secure version 1” or OSPAC-SS1 for short. Hitachi promises an all-in-one customer information management package for eyewear outlets.

Company PR touts the OSPAC-SS1 as a neat little solution perfect for the superniche market. The program reportedly allows users to search by customer name, telephone number or shop-assigned ID number. The system tracks changes in prescriptions and shopping patterns and features customizable tabs that provide flexibility in recording customer data.

Good on Hitachi for the hyperspecialization. It’s amazing there’s a market for some of this stuff…
