Acme for X
Acme Packet, the session border control solutions provider, and XConnect today announced that Acme Packet Net-Net session border controllers have been certified XConnect Ready, having undergone interoperability testing based on SIP signaling and ENUM queries with the XConnect peering network. XConnect is a provider of VoIP peering services.
Acme Packet SBCs have been certified with the XConnect network and ENUM registry to enable service providers to connect to XConnect peering federations such as the XConnect Alliance. Acme Packet’s Net-Net SBCs are used at providers’ interconnect and peering borders while subscribing to XConnect’s peering services.
XConnect enables multi-media communication between VoIP service providers around the world by bypassing the PSTN. The XConnect Alliance and Federations are carrier-neutral services that deliver interoperability, ENUM directory management and identity resolution in a secure environment for the interconnection of XConnect Members, which include voice over broadband providers, application service providers and VoIP carriers.

With its strategic technical partner Kayote Networks Inc., London-headquartered XConnect provides ENUM and peering services to over 300 VoIP operators in more than 20 countries. XConnect was recently selected by the cable industry in the Netherlands to operate the first nationwide VoIP peering solution. XConnect was founded in 2004 by Eli Katz, co-founder / chairman of the UK’s Internet Telephony Service Providers’ Association.
