Another biggie in India

In a nation as large as India, is it any surprise the CRM deals are mammoth as well? Here’s another one. United Bank of India today announced their agreement with Infosys to implement the Infosys Finacle core banking application for some 600 branches in eastern and northeastern India. The software and related infrastructure will be implemented by Hewlett-Packard, and implementation will use HP’s OpenBank Reference Architecture.

As part of the implementation, HP will also implement CRM, HRMS and credit appraisal solutions. Under terms of the contract, HP will provide adaptive IT infrastructure and data center services HP Services will implement the entire application stack and deliver SLA-based Managed Services for the contract period. United Bank of India chairman / managing director P.K. Gupta said understatedly, “this a very comprehensive project.” Of course; how else could it be?
