Austin appointed at Schneider

Lead logistics provider Schneider Logistics HR has announced the appointment of Andrew Austin to the new position of supply chain logistics Europe director. Austin will be based at the European head office of Schneider National in Venlo, The Netherlands. Austin, who joined the company on May 1, will be responsible for all operations and customer account management activities principally undertaken from Venlo.

Austin brings more than twenty years’ worth of commercial and operational management experience in the logistics industry. His last job was as CEO of Blue Alpha Limited, a logistics consultancy company he reportedly began “in response to a growing need to provide consultancy services in the industrial services arena.”

Previous to Blue Alpha, Austin held positions at Indigo Lighthouse Group and FedEx Logistics. A native of Glasgow, Scotland, Austin is a member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in economics and psychology from Glasgow Caledonian University.
