Centive bought

Centive, an on-demand sales compensation management provider, announced today that Berggruen Holdings, a private investment firm with over one billion US dollars in assets, has acquired the CompCentral business unit into Incentive Technology Corp. CompCentral is an enterprise incentive management solution with an installed base.

The acquisition of the CompCentral business includes the intellectual property related to the CompCentral application, and the business unit’s Centive sales, services and engineering resources. Incentive Technology Corp. representatives have promised to further develop and market the CompCentral application.

The strategic decision to sell the CompCentral business unit was reportedly based on the recent success of the on-demand sales compensation management system Centive Compel. Originally released in May 2005, Compel reportedly currently has more sales subscribers than any comparable system.
