CGI Group acquires Plaut Consulting SAS
The City of Love was the City of Acquisition, as CGI Group, Inc. announced the purchase of French management and technology consulting firm Plaut Consulting SAS. Founded in 1998, the Paris-based company boasts annual revenues of approximately €14 million (approximately US $18 million).
The acquisition is expected to close on tomorrow. SAP solutions implementation firm Plaut Consulting SAS specializes in guiding international clients through organizational and information systems transformation projects. Le business is also recognized for its expertise in business intelligence, CRM and integrated technologies. Plaut Consulting SAS has a staff of 120 in manufacturing, retail, distribution, financial services and telecommunications markets.
“By coming together with CGI,” stated Plaut Consulting SAS president Didier Moscatelli, “our professionals will have access to rich and stimulating career opportunities within a global end-to-end IT and BPS provider.” CGI France general manager / vice president Jacques Leray then significantly raised Moscatelli’s stake, confidently asserting that “This acquisition is ideally aligned with our strategic plan to profitably triple our operations in Europe by 2010 … we have chosen Plaut Consulting SAS, because it has all of the key factors to allow us to increase our results over both the short- and long-term.”
CGI has become the eighth-largest independent information technology and business process services firms in the world since its inception in 1976. CGI and affiliated companies today employ some 25,000 and has offices in Canada, the United States of America, Europe, and the Asian Pacific. Centers of excellence sit in Canada, the US, Europe and India. Annual revenue was reported at approximately US $3 billion with an order backlog of US $11.7 billion as of March 31, 2006.
