DB2 Content Manager Standard Edition v8.3 from IBM
The DB2 Content Manager Standard Edition v8.3 for iSeries was launched in December 2005, by IBM. The software aims to help medical offices, retailers, and other businesses in controlling and managing unstructured data. Unstructured data such as emails, customer records, faxes, forms, etc offer valuable information but in an unstructured form, it is of little use.
According to a survey by Forrester Research, 50% of SMBs interviewed showed interest in content management software that would help them to catalog their data in a digitized format. For IBM, the target customers of this product include companies that still rely heavily on paper-based communication.
The DB2 Content Manager Standard Edition v8.3 for iSeries has a graphical workflow builder that facilitates document creation, approval, and archiving. Web services support and XML schema mapping utilities are other features of this application. The software price starts at $ 6,900.
