Googling on and on

Kazeon today released what has been called a “breakthrough solution with Google” that promises to extends enterprise search “deep into the storage infrastructure.” Kazeon announced the integration of the Kazeos information server IS1200 with Google OneBox for Enterprise. In theory, the integration of Kazeon enterprise search and indexing product combined with Google search will enable enterprise customers actually streamlining of searches.

Users will be able to enter keywords and phrases into the traditional Google search interface and get the most relevant search results from data residing across globally distributed corporate network storage systems alongside Google results. The Kazeon trust touts the collaboration as a breakthrough allowing an efficient search through potentially billions of files in hundreds of formats residing in storage systems across corporate networks. Kazeon’s IS1200 is an indexing platform designed to optimize in searching large backup stores and corporate archives.

The IS1200 has full text search capability and reportedly can recognize more than 370 different kinds of files including MS Office, PDF, and .zip containers. Files can be located on any Windows, Unix or Linux server and can also be in NAS appliances or EMC Centera storage. Google OneBox for Enterprise delivers information from enterprise sources, such as CRM, ERP and business intelligence systems based on a search query.

Current OneBox partners include Cisco, Cognos, Employease, Netsuite, Oracle, Salesforce.com, and SAS. Founded in 2003, Kazeon is a leading provider of information classification and management solutions for the enterprise based in Mountain View, Calif. Kazeon, is privately funded by venture firms Redpoint Ventures, Clearstone Venture Partners and Goldman Sachs.
