LexisNexis InterAction
Law firm Lewis Silkin has announced plans to roll out the LexisNexis InterAction client relationship management system. The 42-partner firm had been using a simple contacts system and several software applications. InterAction software will be based in a tight integration with Microsoft Outlook and the firm’s extant Hummingbird document management system.
The Silkin announcement represents a second recent big deal for Silkin, as legal firm Simmons & Simmons has also recently reported rolling out of InterAction. Perhaps of even greater note was the late Friday release of InterAction version 5.5. Especially touted are the upgrade’s report-writing tool and Outlook calendar synchronization. For the multinational set is enhanced international support for multiple languages and character sets.
InterAction is based on the Microsoft .NET platform. For firms lacking a document management system, the software offers document-linking functionality for linking any document type to activities related to specific people, companies or projects. Though LexisNexis appeared to have bolstered its place in the legal software market when it acquired the popular Interface InterAction CRM system eighteen months ago, the firm’s sales hadn’t seen much action since late October.
InterAction’s recently released (and very interesting) MarketImpact media analysis tool, which lets firms know how much media coverage they have received and how positive the reportage was, has received disappointingly little media buzz.
