Microsoft Dynamics CRM Partner Produces Microsoft’s Social Networking Solution
Microsoft business solutions, too, can be made fun.
Sonoma Partners, a partner to Microsoft Corporation, has publically released Vibe, a nifty addition to Microsoft Dynamics CRM. The application was originally in use as an internal tool, but as of yesterday, it is provided for free to Microsoft Dynamics CRM customers. As Salesforce Chatter gets up and running, it will have to compete with this as Microsoft’s answer to social networking.
Sonoma Vibe allows communication through live feeds. Think Facebook and Twitter. Project teams across Microsoft Dynamics CRM can collaborate by subscribing to specific individual or group feeds. It is a combination of social media with internal project management.
Vibe acts as an additional communications medium for Dynamics CRM. Users do not have to log in to Microsoft Dynamics CRM directly, but can still stay informed about important business events and developments. Since Vibe is an internal network, the information relayed is assured to stay within the enterprise.
Microsoft has already used the product within its Microsoft Dynamics CRM online division. Laura Robinson, CRM Sales Technology Specialist at Microsoft, says, “’Vibe’ is a true innovation for Dynamics CRM users. ‘Vibe’ as an internal collaboration tool allows our team to connect in a more meaningful, social manner. We’re able to have authentic conversations about business, share expertise, and also consume relevant notifications from CRM. ‘Vibe’ will have a major positive impact on how we work.”
This may be the trend of workplace collaboration, but it remains to be seen whether business communication is truly improved by resorting to Facebook.
