Money matters at Oracle

Last year SAP wished to purchase retail management software company Retek and offered $ 8.50 per share. The company; however, was acquired by Oracle for $ 11.25 a share. Oracle has also acquired Siebel systems. PeopleSoft was bought by Oracle for $ 10.3 billion. These three acquisitions add up to $ 15.8 billion. fool.com says:
Bolstered by PeopleSoft, sales last quarter increased 19% over the year-ago quarter. But while the top line bloomed, the bottom line faded. Net income fell 2%.
