Service Providers Across Caribbean and Latin America Select Amdocs to Meet Demands of the Connected World
Service providers choose Amdocs solutions to handle convergent billing, strengthen their customer experience and operational support systems to address the “capacity crunch”
ST. LOUIS (July 27, 2011) – Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced it has signed multiple business contracts with wins across the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region as service providers seek to consolidate, transform and modernize their systems to support the demands of the connected world. Service providers across the region are selecting Amdocs to help them increase the capacity and efficiency of their networks, streamline and upgrade their billing systems and deliver personalized services over a new generation of mobile devices.
“Today’s wireless and quad-play customers expect to communicate easily across different networks and devices,” said Patrick McGrory, divisional president for CALA at Amdocs. “To meet these customer expectations, service providers in CALA are selecting Amdocs to help them bring new offerings to market quickly, monetize their exploding data traffic and improve the customer experience.”
Amdocs’ customer contract wins in the region span a variety of products and services, including converged billing solutions, customer management solutions, operational support systems (OSS), service delivery platforms (SDP), directory and digital commerce services. The company’s business wins include:
- A multi-affiliate service provider with subsidiaries operating across Central and Latin America selected Amdocs to provide quad-play support across its wireless, wireline, broadband and pay TV businesses in two countries. By replacing approximately 20 legacy and competing systems with Amdocs, the service provider will establish one integrated customer environment that can enable true service convergence across lines of business while speeding time to market for new services and bundles and lowering operating costs. The service provider is deploying solutions for ordering, convergent billing and customer relationship management.
- A major service provider selected Amdocs OSS for its IP (Internet Protocol) transformation project. The service provider will be able to offer its enterprise customers a wide range of IP-based services including a virtual private and high-bandwidth network, and unified communications for voice and video telephone conferencing. The solution increases operational efficiency by providing the service provider with better visibility of its assets and automating the service fulfillment process.
- A Caribbean service provider has deployed into live production the Amdocs Convergent Billing solution to support its wireline and wireless subscribers. The solution replaces 14 legacy systems, providing one system, one customer database and one view of the customer. The deployment speeds time to market for innovative service bundles and enables the company to deliver a single bill to all of its customers.
- A multi-affiliate service provider with subsidiaries operating across Central and Latin America has deployed into live production Amdocs’ digital commerce, personalization and content delivery capabilities to capture additional data revenues and realize the return on its investment in next-generation networks by offering its subscribers a rich, relevant and personalized mobile portal experience.
Amdocs counts many of the region’s largest service providers among its customers, including: Movilnet in Venezuela; Telefonos de Mexico S.A. de C.V. (Telmex); Codetel (a wholly owned subsidiary of America Movil) in the Dominican Republic; Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE), Costa Rica’s national service provider of energy and telecommunications; Claro Brazil, and TIM Brasil.
