SugarCRM Appoints Yun-Ping Hsu General Manager of China Operations

Veteran software executive to lead SugarCRM’s business in China

Shanghai, China (April 22, 2009) –

SugarCRM today announced the appointment of Yun-Ping Hsu as General Manager of SugarCRM’s China operations. In this role, Yun-Ping Hsu will lead the expansion of SugarCRM’s Asia headquarters in Shanghai, China and serve as the public face of the company in this fast-growing market. The announcement was made today at the Longemont Hotel in Shanghai where SugarCRM hosted a CRM Acceleration Summit for business and CRM leaders in China.

Since joining SugarCRM in 2005 as Vice President of Engineering, Hsu has played an integral role in building SugarCRM’s worldwide engineering team and designing and delivering three generations of SugarCRM products. Before joining SugarCRM, Hsu was the Vice President of Engineering and Worldwide Support at BroadVision where he guided the design and development of BroadVision’s Commerce, eMarketing, Portal and Process products. Hsu is co-author of two software patents and holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University and a MS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

China has played an integral role in SugarCRM’s growth since the company’s founding in 2004. China has been consistently ranked as one of the top five countries in terms of active SugarCRM systems and community involvement with SugarCRM. According to a recent study by Springboard Research, CRM adoption in Asia is expected to grow from $69 million in 2006, to over $460 million by 2010. The SugarCRM Chinese Language Pack has been downloaded over 200,000 times since its creation in 2005. Recognizing the organic growth and technical talent in China, SugarCRM established an engineering presence in Shanghai in 2006. The appointment of Hsu and the establishment of sales and marketing teams, will allow SugarCRM to better address the market opportunity in China.

“Yun-Ping has over 20 years of experience in software management, and a proven track record of successfully building strong teams,” said John Roberts, CEO of SugarCRM. “He brings the business skills and cultural knowledge to help SugarCRM expand rapidly in one of the world’s most vibrant markets.”

“SugarCRM has tremendous momentum in China,” said Hsu. “I look forward to expanding our presence in one of the fastest-growing markets in the world.”
