On Prodomax (no, not the guy in Lord of the Rings)
Prodomax recently purchased a 50-user Encompix ERP system to replace a series of software packages and homegrown systems, with one executive saying that “The Encompix system seemed to be designed with us in mind.” While it surely feels that way, just as surely it isn’t so. The quote was Prodomax vice president of operations Bob Steppe, but the barriers to efficiency at Steppe’s firm he admitted to be “classic ‘islands of information’ problems such as duplicate data entry, errors, late and partial information … We spend far too much time chasing and validating data…”
Steppe also claims that his firm won’t have to change their business processes to use the software. Encompix is a business unit of Made2Manage Systems and was founded in 1992.
