According to Forrester Research, online sales in the holiday season are expected to touch $ 18 billion in the US. This 25% increase in sales can be attributed to an increase in the number of households. An additional 2.5 million families are expected to shop online this holiday season. Also, there is going to be an increase in the number of retailers who will be offering free shipping for a minimum level of purchase. This is concurrent with the online shopping trend where people purchase more if they can avoid shipping charges. Along with traditional shopping items such as toys and electronics, apparels is fast becoming a major retail item in online stores.
