Plans brewing at Oracle Malaysia
In Malaysia, the big boys at the Oracle Corporation announced plans to leverage on its parent company’s acquisition of Siebel and expand its own customer relationship management solutions there. The announcement came from Oracle Malaysia managing director V.R. Srivatsan at a press briefing in Kuala Lumpur.
Using the domain expertise acquired from the Siebel merger, explained Srivatsan, Oracle Malaysia would assist companies in transforming themselves into “customer-centric” organizations, though he also praised Malaysian companies for generally already claiming a position at the “forefront of thinking” regarding use of CRM. The market for CRM in Malaysia, said Srivatsan, “is ripe. … Strategically it’s important for us.”
Alongside Srivatsan’s comments came remarks from Oracle CRM Southeast Asia managing director Norbert Kiss who said Oracle Malaysia would be soon be added resource and sales personnel to drive its CRM business in Malaysia, though no specifics were offered. In the here and now, said Kiss, “We are actively engaging with customers in Malaysia across key industries and also in the high-growth mid-market segment, to help them build new strategies and opportunities for growth and profitability.”
