Sage contract terminated
The distribution agreement between Sage Software and GL Computing regarding distribution of Sage’s CRM product ACT! has been terminated. Though, Sage CRM Australia managing director Ross Stange was contrite about dissolving the link, saying that the relationship ended due to the ever-popular “issues” between the two firms and that “…the relationship wasn’t succeeding the way we wanted it to.
It wasn’t an easy decision,” GL Computing owner Michael Lazarus was a heck of a lot less generous in describing said partnership. When contacted for comment by CRN.com, Lazarus claimed that Sage was overcharging his firm over the entire length of the contract. “We were losing money hand over fist,” he said.
Lazarus levied a number of more specific complaints, including shady distributor rebate deals, “proving each purchase order,” and unpaid bills, including US $9000 returnable be rebate he had plunked into a Sage trade fair. Lazarus has been an ACT! dealer since 1987 and still sells Sage’s products for Blackberry.
