Security solutions provider BlueCat Networks has announced the latest release of its Proteus and Adonis appliances. A number of features have been added to the Proteus Enterprise IPAM Appliance, including built-in external authenticator tests; improved zone templates for increased automation and time savings and advanced support for VoIP, with integrated electronic numbering and vendor client classes.
First launched in April 2006, Proteus is an internet protocol address management solution with a multi-core architecture. Proteus the program seeks to improve an organization’s ability to centrally administer distributed IP networks.
Among the features touted in the new Proteus are advanced support for VoIP electronic numbering; advanced report and audit functionality; high availability and disaster recovery functions; and a rapid parallel configuration deployment engine with scheduled deployment BlueCat Networks’ Adonis line of DNS/DHCP network appliances now supports security and performance features for complex IP control.
The features built into this version of Adonis include direct integration with the Mirage family of post-admission network access control appliances, RADIUS authentication security enhancements and advanced VoIP functionality with built-in electronic numbering and TFTP.
Adonis’ VoIP functionality attempts to simplifies the management and deployment of complex VoIP and unified messaging environments. The Proteus IP Address Management appliance is designed to assist organizations with large, geographically dispersed networks to easily configure, automate and integrate IP services. Proteus attempts to streamline the management and operation of an organization’s existing DNS and DHCP servers.
Adonis is a DNS and DHCP security appliance. Based on cross platform Java technology, Adonis Management Console features software tools and wizards, and “powerful time-saving features.”
