Steria to get borough up to tech spec
Service firm Steria has recently been award a prestigious (if small) five year £2.1m IT support contract. Awarded by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, Steria has been contracted to complete a multi-task project including establishment of CRM enabling customer contact, web site improvement and remote capabilities.
A small borough in the UK, Hinckley and Bosworth were essentially left with no option but to subcontract the project or else risk not completing tasks on Britain’s “e-government” agenda. The council currently employs a team of three to handle IT matters. Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council head of finance and IT Sanjiv Kohli, citing lack of budget and expertise, said that control over the project had to be surrendered in order to update the extant systems. However, he did promise more efficient service and far less rerouting with the Steria system.
