Swiss Army Brands to expand business lines by virtue of SAP’s CRM
Swiss Army Brands, Inc., distributor of Swiss Army timepieces and Victorinox multi-tools, cutlery, travel gear and apparel, has decided on using SAP products to facilitate its business processes and lead the way for the expansion of its business lines.
In the apparel industry, company officials say, businesses need to react within days or even hours to changes in consumer behavior and customer demand. In a bold move, Swiss Army Brands decided to retire its Oracle/JD Edwards legacy system and instate SAP‘s intergrated apparel and footwear applications. According to one company official, in the clothing and accessories markets, businesses need to have a finger on the pulse of changing notions and trends.
Tom Hennigan, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Swiss Army Brands, Inc. thinks that SAP is the way to keep abreast of the apparel markets. He said that Swiss Army Brands see the implementation of SAP as "essential for us to provide our customers with the same service levels that much larger brands provide."
Swiss Army Brands plan to use SAP CRM, ERP and supply chain management products to facilitate "smooth system integration across the organization’s distribution facilities, which will help streamline operations and improve financial management controls," explain company officials.
