Taliferro proposes new verb for the English language
In one of the oddest press releases seen by CRMchump, a creative release-writing type at Taliferro today announced that “to liferro” has become a verb within company parlance and with its customers. Claiming that Taliferro customer service representatives have been “increasingly hearing the expression ‘liferro that!’ from its customers.” The would-be wordsmiths also offer a definition, if limp: “‘liferro that,’” explains company PR, “basically means ‘file that.’”
The point of this encroachment on Oxford English Dictionary is presumably to detail the interesting system employed in Taliferro programs. Liferro software does not actually use the folder concept, instead involving the association of various items to one other. The origin of Liferro was as a small “activity management” tool developed for the now-defunct firm Vivende.
Excellently named Taliferro chief architect Ty Showers then oversaw the product’s evolution, which gradually encompassed niche markets as they expanded – stuff we take for granted today like SFA and CRM – to create an integrated business application. Taliferro is based in Miami, Fla., and specializes in developing Internet applications for professional services, insurance and retail industries, capital management, sports and travel and hospitality. A free test drive of Liferro is available at www.liferro.com.
