Teaching a way old dog new tricks
Just because you’re 188 years old, it doesn’t mean you can’t get with the times. Representatives of Iron Age Shoes, the nearly two-centuries-old American business, have announced their implementation of the Oracle E-Business Suite, including Oracle Financials, Oracle Advanced Procurement, Oracle Inventory, Oracle Warehouse Management and Oracle Order Management. Press material explains that the project is part of Iron Age’s turnaround strategy.
The retailer is using the Oracle applications in financial management, inventory allocation, merchandising operations and customer relationships. Oracle representatives were able to take pride in the installation, installed in a quick nine months. For Iron Age, Oracle E-Business Suite will centralize information systems at its Massachusetts headquarters. From these centralized systems, the retailer supports a call center in Pennsylvania, a second headquarters in Canada and more than one hundred store locations.
