The Analyzer Flows on…
Enterprise IT management software provider AdventNet Inc. has announced the immediate availability of NetFlow Analyzer 5.5, with support for Cisco NBAR (a.k.a. Network Based Application Recognition).
NetFlow Analyzer is a web-based bandwidth monitoring tool that collects Cisco NetFlow and Cisco NBAR data exported from routing devices, to analyze network traffic and report on bandwidth use across the network. NetFlow Analyzer promises to provide valuable insight into bandwidth use in the enterprise and can do so without deploying hardware and software probes. (Deploying probes always led to trouble for the Enterprise gang, anyway.)
Analyzer today boasts a base of more than 200,000 worldwide users of its flow-based traffic analysis and network forensics; this 200,000 has been provided version 5.5 through a two-month beta testing period of the product.
Cisco NBAR performs deep packet inspection to provide intelligent identification and classification of application traffic in real time; this, in turn, can allow system administrators use of classification reports and setting of QoS standards. The new release of Analyzer also supports advanced application categorization based on IP address, apart from the port and protocol from the NetFlow data.
Additional enhanced features touted in NetFlow Analyzer 5.5 GA include automatic scheduling; automatic report emailing; support for NetFlow version 9; increase in raw data storage period; and support for ToS and TCP Flag.
NetFlow Analyzer 5.5 General Access is available for a free 30 day trial.
