The United States of Agresso
Agresso has its first American customer: the city of Laguna Niguel in sunny California. Laguna Niguel is a township of approximately 66,000 and sports a US $40 million budget; the city seeks to leverage the Agresso integrated government financial software system to streamline financial operations and enhance financial reporting.
Agresso is currently the number-five ranked European software producer, but officially launched in North America in June of this year. Naturally, officials are high on their first red, white and blue success. Said Agresso North America president Shelley Zapp (great name), “Laguna Niguel is in the sweet spot of a horizontal category of fast- moving, visionary organizations that we call BLINC — Businesses Living IN Change … [these organizations] are discarding their existing thinking that they need to continually spend precious resources on re-architecting their back-office systems each time their requirements changes.”
The city of Laguna Niguel is a 14.79 square mile master-planned community in the coastal area of South Orange County, California. It is located halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego, and is surrounded by the cities of Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo and San Juan Capistrano. Not a bad bit of real estate… With a focus on organizations in transition, Agresso is deployed in 100 countries with more than 10,000 sites in 2,400 organizations and some 1.1 million users.
Agresso is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Unit 4 Agresso, which is headquartered in the Netherlands and employs approximately 2,300 worldwide. Unit 4 Agresso is a producer of business software for service companies and organizations and supplier of security software reaching US $450 million in revenues in 2005.
