And speaking of Infosys… Today a major agreement was announced by folks from the United Bank of India, Hewlett-Packard and Infosys to form a partnership to deploy Finacle Core Banking solution information technology infrastructure and applications for over five years. Under the terms of the contract, HP will implement and manage Infosys’ Finacle Core Banking solution across 600 branches of United Bank, with emphasis in the east and northeast of India. HP is to provide adaptive IT infrastructure and data center services; HP Services will implement the entire application stack and deliver SLA based Managed Services for the contract period.
As part of the implementation entitled “Next Generation Banking,” HP will also implement CRM, HRMS and credit appraisal solutions in phases. The Finacle core banking implementation uses HP OpenBank reference architecture and promises to assist United Bank customers in accessing bank products and services on a 24 / 7 basis. As the systems integrator, HP will draw on its extensive network of alliances with industry leaders for the integrated deployment of requisite applications. United Bank of India has a trans-Indian network of 28 regional offices, 1318 branches, 65 extension counters and 125 ATMs Finacle is dubbed the “universal banking solution from Infosys,” and deals with core banking, e-banking, treasury, wealth management, CRM, and cash management in retail, corporate and universal banks worldwide.
