Vecta? You betcha
Sales intelligence solutions provider Vecta, has announced the launch of Vecta OnDemand. Vecta PR proclaims two firsts with the release: Vecta OnDemand is in fact the first software as a service product from the firm, and truly operational business intelligence SaaS has heretofore been non-existent. The new service has three components: subscription licensing, hosted delivery and managed services. Vecta representatives promise to deliver the service via a “highly responsive” and usable smart client that installs, upgrades and accesses services over the internet in similar fashion to iTunes and Skype.
Vecta CEO Martin Mackay explained his firm’s sudden move into on-demand and SaaS by citing that oft-mentioned figure: “The global business intelligence market will generate $2.5 billion in 2006, according to Gartner, and Vecta’s Sales Intelligence solutions are at the forefront of the shift in this software market to SaaS.” Paper distributor Antalis is a long-time Vecta customer mentioned as among the first to be implementing the product. …who has been trialing the new service and IT Director Farid Motamed has been impressed; “Over the last three years we’ve rolled-out Vecta Sales Intelligence to more than 200 office and field-based sales people.
As a beta customer, we were keen to evaluate the new web-based Vecta ‘smart client’ and we’ve been very satisfied with the performance, responsiveness and usability of the application…” Vecta OnDemand is offered at a single integrated price covering software, support and maintenance, with hosted managed services. Established in 1996, Oxford, UK-headquartered Vecta Software Corporation Ltd provides sales intelligence solutions to hundreds of companies. Vecta operates under their philosophy of “sales intelligence,” a term that refers to the empowerment of sales teams to “challenge assumptions about their customers’ buying expectations and patterns.”
