Victoria is amused
Folks at RightNow are no doubt pleased that Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand is expanding its CRM functionality with the purchase of sales consoles for the system; RightNow has been there for Victoria for ages now, but Victoria U makes for an interesting case for the market in general, as CRM functions are so crucial to the institution.
Victoria has operated RightNow since 2004 as is primarily used as an e-marketing tool to recruit prospective students into its highly international study body including those from from China, Germany, the United States and Malaysia. As Victoria University e-marketing coordinator Charles Brooks so succinctly put it, “There’s no real alternative to e-marketing for us … We can’t go and advertise on BBC or CNN and, given we’re looking for a tiny result in a lot of different markets, doing local campaigns isn’t an option, either.”
The New Zealand learnery typically serves approximately 3000 international students; the school’s goal of maintaining international requires the Uni to garner sixteen percent of all its students coming from overseas.
Victoria’s international website receives around 10,000 user sessions each month The new RightNow consoles will be used for admissions management for international students. And Brooks hopes the consoles will help streamline its e-marketing, sales and admissions processes, key to the international student marketing process.
