VoIP in the Philippines? Killer, dude.
In the Philippines, a “killer application” for internet-based communication has been released … perhaps we should hide the women and children. Where is Superman when we need him?
Hidden beneath the somewhat informal PR declaration of Mozcom is a serious product for the island nation: a VoIP service that can integrate webcasting technology.
Known as VCall, Mozcom’s VoIP service gives enterprise customers the opportunity to take advantage of internet calling in reportedly user-friendly fashion. To use the VoIP service, a user may create a VCall account at www.vcall.ph and signing up for free. After establishing an account, the system is essentially ready to go after installing and configuring an internet phone.
The VCall’s audio conferencing tool also users to meet online via audio collaboration. Anyone with a VCall account can request for and participate in a scheduled audiocon. Through Mozcom video conferencing and streaming, users can share presentation materials and applications and make webcasts, but such users must pay a separate subscription for the webcasting service in order to use these features.
Mozcom is listed as the Philippines’ very first commercial ISP, and received a license to operate VoIP service last August from the country’s national telecommunications commission.
